Frequently Asked Questions
Browse some of our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about employment at the Niagara Health System below. If you have question of you own please contact the Human Resourses Department.
Do you hire summer students?
Hiring for summer positions is based on the needs of the specific units/departments. Requests for students are received by the Human Resources Department and then advertised through our local universities and colleges.
Do I need to apply to each posting individually?
We advise you to include the job posting number on your resume or external application for each position you are interested in. Kindly be advised that only applicants who meet the posted qualifications may be contacted. It is not necessary to follow up, as Human Resources will forward the resumes of those who best meet the posted qualifications to the hiring Manager.
What is the hiring process?
Various steps are taken in our recruitment process to help identify the right area for you.
Personal interviews will take place with the interview team. One or more interviews may occur with a panel of interviewers.
Work Related References
References are conducted prior to a job offer being made. We ask your permission to talk with three managerial or supervisory references from your current and previous employers who can provide us with work-related references. A section on the external application outlines the information needed and an area for your signature authorization for the NHS to complete the reference check.
Police Record Check
As part of our hiring process all new staff must complete a Criminal Reference Check or Clearance Certificate. The fee for this is paid for by the candidate and is not reimbursed by the Niagara Health System.
We receive many applications and thank all of our applicants for their interest with the Niagara Health System. In the near future, we will contact those candidates with whom we wish to consider.
