Utilization Management
The Utilization Management Program, in collaboration with the Decision Support Team, assists our sites and programs with benchmarking initiatives for the NHS as well as across the province. The goal is to identify efficient, effective and appropriate services, including resource allocation through a regional structured program model.
A consistent approach for utilization management is in place at all Niagara Health System sites. These strategies include case management, clinical pathways, clinical practice guidelines, best practice, benchmarking, utilization review and community partnerships with the overall goal of maintaining or improving quality patient care across the continuum.
