Regional NHS Foundation
It's Our Time Campaign
The Niagara Health System Foundation (NHS Foundation) is responsible for implementing and managing the It's Our Time Campaign. The Foundation works in partnership with each of the local hospital site foundations which include Douglas Memorial Hospital Foundation, Greater Niagara General Hospital Foundation, Niagara-on-the-Lake Hospital Foundation, Port Colborne General Hospital Foundation, Welland Hospital Foundation and St. Catharines General Hospital Foundation.
The campaign is managed by a Steering Committee comprised of volunteers from each of the communities where an NHS site exists. The Committee is structured into three teams: Niagara Falls, North Niagara (St. Catharines, Thorold and Niagara-on-the-Lake) and South Niagara (Fort Erie, Port Colborne and Welland). Each team will raise funds for the new Regional Cancer and Cardiac Centres, for new equipment at their respective community hospital sites related to cancer, cardiac, chronic kidney and mental health treatment, and to make improvements to the hospitals within their respective areas.
The It's Our Time Campaign is centered on funding facilities and equipment to enhance regional healthcare programs related to cancer, cardiac, chronic kidney and mental health diseases. The Campaign goal is to raise $40 million.
This is the Niagara Health System's (NHS) first region-wide health-care fundraising campaign, to bring much needed healthcare programs and services closer to home in Niagara, for Niagarans and by Niagarans, says Debbie Sevenpifer, President and CEO of NHS. |
Facilities in the new healthcare complex to be built in St. Catharines, at First Street and Fourth Avenue will include the regional cancer centre – now named the Walker Family Cancer Centre, a regional cardiac catheterization lab, regional long term mental health facilities and a new local community hospital to serve the residents of St. Catharines, Thorold and Niagara-on-the-Lake.
