Diabetes Education Centre

The Niagara Diabetes Education Centre helps improve the quality of life for people across Niagara with diabetes. A team of nurses and dietitians conduct ongoing education programs, counselling and follow-up sessions for patients and their families, helping them live in a healthy and safe manner.

The Niagara Diabetes Centre has a dedicated team of paediatricians, nurses, and dietitians committed to the specialized care of children with type 1 diabetes. The Centre is located at Ontario Street Site, 155 Ontario Street, St. Catharines, on the 2nd floor with 5 satellite locations in Grimsby, Welland Hospital Site, Fort Erie's Douglas Memorial Site, Port Colborne General Site and Greater Niagara General Site in Niagara Falls.

The Niagara Diabetes Centre also includes the Endocrinology Clinic. Specific service areas include; insulin kinetics, glycemic control, co-existing hormonal imbalances, systems review/dysfunctions and educational needs (management and lifestyle). The clinic accepts referrals on a consult-basis to treat and counsel diabetes patients with complicated disease-management challenges.
