Maternal and Child Care
Located at Greater Niagara General, St. Catharines General and Welland Hospital Sites, our Maternal and Child Care Units include Obstetrics, Paediatrics and Level 2 Special Care Nurseries. All areas of the Unit promote a family-centred care philosophy. Family physicians, obstetricians and midwives deliver obstetrical care to mothers and infants. Staff are certified in PALS (Paediatric Advanced Life Support) and Neonatal Resuscitation. Ongoing support is offered to new mothers through lactation consultants and through our case management program.
Our Paediatric units contain close observation areas, isolation rooms, play rooms and quiet rooms for families. Preparation and teaching for home cardiorespiratory support is also provided.
