This service provides care to the adult and paediatric community, requiring diagnostic procedures, surgical intervention and palliative care. By guiding the surgical patient through a safe and informative pre and post-operative period, we enable them to return to an optimum level of health.
Surgical procedures are offered at Greater Niagara General, Ontario Street, St. Catharines General and Welland sites.
The Case Management Program supports the continuum of care from pre-admission, hospital stays and post-discharge. Last year the NHS carried out 8,287 inpatient surgeries and 34,295 day surgeries.
