"Niagara is fortunate to have enthusiastic and dedicated health care professionals and agencies, who realize the importance and value of getting health information to the public," said Christine Clark, Regional Director of Community Relations for the Niagara Health System. "The Niagara Health Fair is one way we hope to better inform the public about the programs and services available throughout our region."
About one dozen hospital departments/programs are participating, including the Niagara Aphasia Centre, Rehab Services, Volunteer Services, New Port Centre, Asthma Clinic, and Laboratory. More than 40 agencies are also taking part and range from Niagara Public Health Department with six community health displays, to the Canadian Cancer Society, Lupus Foundation, Wellspring Niagara, CCAC, Multiple Sclerosis Society, and Lewis and Krall, to name a few.
"We're overwhelmed by the number of agencies and hospital departments that have come forward to participate in this first year," Clark said. "We could not have held this event without the sponsorship of Central Park Lodges and The Pen Centre. We truly appreciate this support, and look forward to future partnerships."
