NIAGARA, Ontario: Niagara Health System’s Palliative Care and Bereavement Services provide compassionate and specialized care to patients with a life-limiting illness and their families while patients are in hospital.

The role of our palliative care volunteers is key to assisting patients and families through their end-of-life journey.

Palliative care volunteers are currently needed to assist at the Niagara Health System’s St. Catharines General, Welland, Douglas Memorial and Port Colborne sites. As a volunteer, you will help by providing emotional support and respite care for our patients and their families.

Volunteer training begins Wednesday, April 7, 2010, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the St. Catharines General Site. Training will take place over the course of eight weeks.
