Social Work
Social Work services are available to NHS patients within specific programs, including Renal, Oncology, Medical, Intensive Care, Addictions, Maternal Child, Mental Health, Complex Continuing Care and Diabetic Education. Social Workers play a role in hospital settings by helping patients and families address the impact of illness and treatment. The goal is to restore, maintain and enhance social and emotional functioning by focusing on strengths, linking people to necessary resources, and providing supportive counselling.
