COVID-19 vaccine delivery is imminent for Niagara

We are proud to be working with our community partners to administer the first doses of the vaccine in Niagara.

With the rising number of cases in the community, at long-term care homes, and in the hospital, the vaccine is greatly needed in our region to support the effort against this highly contagious virus.

We are planning aggressively so that we are ready to administer vaccines as soon as the first shipment arrives sometime next week. The region’s first Vaccination Clinic will be housed in a temporary structure next to the Walker Family Cancer Centre at Niagara Health’s St. Catharines Site.

Workers in long-term care and retirement home facilities and essential caregivers will be the first groups to receive the vaccine as per the prioritization framework developed by the Province of Ontario. Niagara Health staff and physicians most at risk of exposure to COVID-19 will also be scheduled for vaccination in a process beginning with this first shipment.

Niagara Health’s COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic will operate by appointment only and will not initially be open to the general public.

Further information and updates will be shared at niagarahealth.on.ca.
