Executive Vice-President, Medical; Chief of Staff
As Chief of Staff and Executive Vice President, Medicine, Dr. Kevin Chan is responsible for the 617 physicians that work at Niagara. Working with leaders across Niagara, Dr. Chan works to ensure that Niagara excels in clinical care care, and teaching the next generation of healthcare workers throughout the region. Working with the Department Chiefs and the Physician Services Association, Dr. Chan is responsible for ensuring that physicians have the resources and ability to provide world-leading care, and training of the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Dr. Chan is a pediatrician, subspecialising in pediatric emergency, a job that brings joy every day he’s there. He has worked in global health systems development and research, leading regional, national, and international organizations, and holds the designation of a Canadian Certified Physician Executive.
Dr. Chan has been the recipient of the Frank Knox Memorial Fellowship at Harvard University and the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Scholarship. He has been the recipient of the Chris Krogh Award for contributions to global health from the Consortium of University for Global Health. Dr. Chan has been recognized for his contribution to global pediatrics with a lifetime fellowship of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He has served as Chair of Pediatrics at Memorial University and chief of the Janeway Children’s Hospital, department head of Women’s and Children’s Health at Trillium Health Partners, and Corporate Medical Executive and Acting CEO at London Health Sciences Centre.
