Posted Sep 15th, 2010

Niagara, ON: Come meet athletes with the Welland Jr. Canadians and the Baffin Niagara United Girls Under 14 South Region Soccer League team (2010 league cup champions), who will be serving dinner at a pasta dinner dance Thursday, September 30 organized by Niagara nurses to raise funds to build a health clinic in Kenya.

The pasta dinner dance takes place at the Royal Canadian Legion, Morningstar Drive, in Welland. Doors open at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by the Rockin Daisies and Trevor Howard.

This year is International Year of the Nurse, and Niagara Health System (NHS) nurses are holding a number of fundraising events for a building project to provide better healthcare in Africa. Partnering with international child rights and relief agency Free the Children, NHS nurses are working to raise $20,000 to send five or six Niagara youth to a Kenyan village to help build the facility.

Tickets for the pasta dinner dance are $15 for adults; $10 for children 12 years and under, and can be purchased by calling 905-378-4647 ext. 33000 or emailing niahealsys@live.com.
