New family physician comes to Fort Erie Will work in community and at Douglas Memorial Urgent Care Centre

The news media is invited to meet the new full-time physician at the Douglas Memorial Site Urgent Care Centre at a special gathering organized by Niagara Health and the Town of Fort Erie on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010, at 10 a.m. in the Urgent Care Centre at 230 Bertie Street, Fort Erie (map).

Dr Nick Marchi began working at the Douglas Urgent Care Centre last week. A graduate of medical school in Poland, he was introduced to Niagara when he did elective studies with Dr. Maynard Luterman, Emergency Department Site Chief for the Southern Tier which includes the Douglas Memorial Site.

The Urgent Care Centre at the Douglas Memorial Site is open 24 hours a day seven days a week and treats approximately 50 to 60 patients a day.

A photo opportunity will be provided for members of the news media at the event.
