Niagara, Ontario: The news media is invited to join representatives of the Niagara Health System to officially mark Nursing Week May 9 to 15.
Recognition events during the week include a Nursing Breakfast, Nursing Dinner, Celebration Teas at each of our sites and Nursing Excellence Awards. Awards are being given out at the Nursing Breakfast to recipients who have been nominated by their peers from across Niagara.
Nursing Breakfast, Tuesday, May 10
Blue Star Restaurant in Welland
- 7:30 a.m. – Breakfast
- 8:45 a.m. – Nursing Awards presented to recipients from across Niagara
- 9 a.m. – Keynote address by Nancy Purdy, RN, PhD (c), Ryerson University on the topic From Good to Great – the Art of Possibilities
Other Nursing Week celebrations include a Nursing Dinner, May 11, 6 p.m. at Club Italia, Niagara Falls, with keynote speaker Michael Villeneuve, Scholar in Residence for the Canadian Nursing Association on the topic Life and Loss in the Year of the Ox. As well, Nursing Week teas are planned for each site.
