NIAGARA, Ontario: Niagara Health System feels deep compassion for those who have been affected by the C. Difficile outbreaks in our communities. We deeply respect the grief of those who have lost loved ones, and are deeply sorry for their loss. Our board, our senior leadership, and our entire staff is committed to ending these outbreaks swiftly. We are continuing to learn wherever we have operational shortcomings or areas for improvement. Our vigilance will continue after the outbreaks are concluded, and our approaches to dealing with superbugs will exceed current industry standards.
Our entire organization is completely focused on managing these outbreaks. We believe the best way we can assist families with their profound loss is to continue our process of meeting each family face-to-face. We will continue to learn from these meetings, and we will improve our practices whenever we have fallen short of their expectations. We encourage any families with questions or comments to contact us directly.
Brady Wood, Interim Chief Communications Officer at NHS, will attend the event to hear the concerns of those in attendance. A delegate from Dr. Flynn’s community engagement study will also be in attendance.
