Since 1962 the Auxiliary has supported local students who are interested in careers in the health care field, by providing scholarships. The program started at the high school level but evolved to support Niagara College students in the paramedic program. Every year the Auxiliary supports a scholarship and a bursary with a combined value of $1750 to two students who are chosen based on their academic achievements and community involvement in the Niagara region.

This year Tim Sallows will receive the $1,000 Auxiliary Scholarship and Kristen Kish will the receive the $750 Pat Agnes Memorial Award.

Tim attended school in Niagara Falls. He has been involved in community and volunteer work in different areas. His participation and leadership have benefitted both him as well as other classmates. Tim has a wife and three children. His first year average was 90%.

Kristen has always lived in St Catharines and has always taken an active role in volunteer and community work. She is an excellent student with an average of 86%.

The Niagara-on-the-Lake Hospital Auxiliary is a non-profit organization. In addition to these annual scholarships and bursaries, the Auxiliary provides a range of services in support of healthcare in our community including direct patient services, fundraising for the NOTL hospital site, as well as supporting the community foot care clinic.
