First major equipment for our new Walker Family Cancer Centre has arrived!

Posted Feb 24th, 2012

Having successfully crossed the Atlantic Ocean from the supplier in the United Kingdom, and transported in an entourage from Quebec, installers have begun the intricate process of assembling highly specialized radiation treatment machines.

The arrival of the radiation therapy equipment marks an exciting time for the delivery of cancer care in Niagara as we will be adding a new form of treatment as part of an integrated plan to strengthen cancer services throughout the region.

“Join us in celebrating this incredible event – radiation treatment is coming to Niagara!” – Dr. Janice Giesbrecht, Medical Director of the NHS Oncology Program
