Niagara Health System’s Greater Niagara General Site in Niagara Falls is improving its energy efficiency with an innovative project that is reducing its energy consumption by 30 per cent. In addition to entirely converting its heating network from steam to hot water, the Greater Niagara General Site has also upgraded its lighting and ventilation systems.
This work is part of a larger energy efficiency project that extends to other NHS sites. The upgrades at Greater Niagara General are the most extensive.
Members of the media are invited to the Greater Niagara General Site, 5546 Portage Road in Niagara Falls, Front Lobby, Tuesday, December 18, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., to learn more about this innovative project as well as tips everyone can use to conserve energy at work and at home.
NHS has partnered with Ecosystem Energy Services Inc. (Ecosystem), a leading firm of energy efficiency experts, to design and implement the project at its sites. Equipment renewal will be paid through energy savings.
