NHS raises $69,774 for United Way; earns Chair's Award

Posted Mar 11th, 2016

Niagara Health System is pleased to announce that we successfully raised $69,774 and signed up more than 100 new donors during our United Way workplace campaign.

During a cheque presentation at our St. Catharines Site on Thursday, 2015 United Way Campaign Chair Anita Robertson announced that NHS will receive the Chair’s Award at the United Way Annual Awards Night on Tuesday, March 29.  NHS is being recognized for implementing new practices to grow our campaign and making the United Way campaign part of the workplace culture.

“United Way is thrilled with the outcome of the Niagara Health System's Workplace Campaign," says Ms. Robertson. "The tremendous efforts of the Campaign Committee produced outstanding results.  We are so proud of the partnership that NHS and United Way have formed, and we look forward to continuing to work on improving the lives of everyone in our community.  Thank you NHS."

NHS President Dr. Suzanne Johnston acknowledged the “incredible support and enthusiasm of our caring and giving team at the NHS.  We are absolutely honoured to be chosen for the Chair’s Award and value our continued partnership with the United Way.”

With a focus on increasing the number of staff contributing to the United Way through payroll deductions, we were thrilled to add 126 new donors this year.
