Niagara’s three Assessment Centres - in St. Catharines, Niagara Falls and Welland – are changing their walk-in hours from 4:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., in order to ensure timely registration and testing of walk-in patients.
The hours of operation at the three Assessment Centres remain the same; the St. Catharines and Niagara Falls Assessment Centres are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Sunday, and the Welland Assessment Centre is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The centres will accept walk-ins until 4 p.m. on the days of operation.
The quickest way to be tested is by calling 905-378-4647 ext. 42819 (4-CV19). Those arriving for testing without an appointment will need to wait while registration and administrative procedures are completed over the phone, which may take up to 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the number of walk-in patients.
The three Assessment Centres have seen more than 28,600 patients come through since opening in March. Since accepting self-referrals on May 25, the centres have seen a high number of people coming for tests – some days conducting more than 450 COVID tests.
