Regular operations resume at St. Catharines Emergency Department

Flooding in one of the areas of the Emergency Department at the St. Catharines Site has been cleaned up, and regular operations have resumed.

At approximately 5:30 a.m., a fire sprinkler line was pulled by a patient, leading to flooding from the ceiling into the back area of Pod A.

17 patients in the area were safely moved to our medical and surgical units and critical care unit as appropriate based on their health needs.

No injuries were reported. St. Catharines Fire Department were on scene and assisted our team with the response.

Special thanks to our staff and physicians for their immediate and professional action in response to this situation.
