Update: Temporary Welland Hospital Service Disruptions
Following a recent pipe leak at Welland Hospital due to ageing infrastructure, our facility and clinical experts conducted a thorough assessment. As a result, we have made the decision to temporarily close the Operating Room (OR) to carry out necessary reconstruction, as the infrastructure in that area is no longer safe for continued use. We are currently finalizing the schedule and will share updates as soon as they are available.
To maintain continuity of care, surgical procedures are being redirected to the Marotta Family and Niagara Falls Hospitals.
We appreciate the community’s understanding and patience as we work to ensure the highest standards of safety and care. Our sincere appreciation to our dedicated and flexible teams for their commitment and hard work.

Niagara Health is managing water damage caused by a pipe leak in the building’s ageing infrastructure. Several areas have been affected, with the Operating Room (OR) and associated recovery rooms being the most impacted.
As a result, the OR is temporarily closed. Cleaning teams are on-site and working diligently to restore the affected areas and resume operations as soon as possible.
All patients impacted have been notified and/or rescheduled.
