Niagara Health recognizes 2025 Awards of Excellence winners

A nurse who creates meaningful watercolour paintings to bring joy and memory for patients and their families. A volunteer whose dedication to helping patients goes beyond improving their experience. Managers who lead with compassion.

These are just a few inspiring examples of the Niagara Health Awards of Excellence recipients — remarkable individuals who embody our commitment to Transforming Care.

“I feel incredibly lucky to work alongside such a dedicated team — people who show up every day to provide high-quality care, support one another and go above and beyond for our patients,” said Niagara Health President and CEO Lynn Guerriero.

On Tuesday, June 24, the 18th annual awards were held at the Marotta Family Hospital, recognizing the recipients of 13 awards and the more than 160 nominees who’ve demonstrated extraordinary dedication to compassionate care.

“These awards aren’t just a nice moment — they reflect the heart of our organization. They remind us that behind every shift, every patient story, every small act of care — there’s a person making a difference.”

This year’s President and CEO Award for Extraordinary Performance was presented to Janice Feather, Director of Diagnostic Imaging. When Feather stepped into her role, she brought clarity, compassion and a deep commitment to learning. Leading with empathy, Feather knows her team members by name and her thoughtful, collaborative approach has united the department while having a lasting impact on patient access and care.

“Our hospitals may be built from bricks and mortar, but the true foundation lies in our people,” said Guerriero.
