Niagara Health is proud to host a free community health event in St. Catharines on Friday, July 25 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Montebello Park, in recognition of World Hepatitis Day.
This event will feature:
- Free, private hepatitis C testing
- Information on Niagara Health’s Hepatitis C Care Clinic
- Resources for liver health, addiction and mental health
- A community health and social services fair with local organizations
“We know that education is one of the most powerful tools we have in the fight against hepatitis,” says Karen Usick, Registered Nurse and Community Coordinator for the Hepatitis C Care Clinic. “Our team works closely with local partners to raise awareness, promote testing and improve access to care.”
Many Canadians living with hepatitis C are unaware they’ve been infected. Hepatitis C is spread when blood carrying the virus gets into the bloodstream of another person. Testing is key and treatment is available.
Let’s raise awareness, promote wellness and move toward a hepatitis-free future — together.
