Celebrating Niagara Health’s Interprofessional Practice Award Recipients

Posted Dec 8th, 2025

At Niagara Health, taking time to recognize our people is one of the most important ways we strengthen a culture of putting people first.

The 2025 Interprofessional Practice Awards (IPAs), held on Dec. 4, was a wonderful opportunity to come together, recognize the outstanding contributions of our interprofessional teams and acknowledge the everyday teamwork and professionalism that make a meaningful difference for patients and families.

We proudly recognized 17 remarkable colleagues who consistently go above and beyond delivering safe, high-quality care. Their commitment to patients, innovation, mentorship and collaboration directly impacts our organization and the individuals and communities we are privileged to serve.

"In recognizing our accomplishments, we honour our interprofessional team whose dedication fuels our purpose of extraordinary caring, every person, every time. Their teamwork transforms our vision into daily practice and helps create a healthier Niagara,” said Simon Akinsulie, Executive Vice-President, Practice, Clinical Support & Chief Nursing Executive.

This year marked a record-breaking 175 nominations and more than 250 tickets sold — a testament to the enthusiasm and pride across our teams.

“Our interprofessional practice awards and trivia night offered a wonderful moment to pause, reflect and celebrate,” said Darlene Venditti, Director, Interprofessional Practice, Ethics & Education. “It blended recognition, fellowship and friendly competition, all made possible by the collaboration and spirit of our entire team.”
