Dr. Katelyn MacKenzie

Dr. Katelyn MacKenzie is the Chief of Pediatrics at Niagara Health.

Dr. MacKenzie has been a part of the Niagara Health medical team since 2019, consistently demonstrating an unwavering commitment to the health and well-being of the region’s youngest patients. In her role overseeing all pediatric services at Niagara Health, she drives the department's strategic vision—focusing on the expansion of patient-centered care, the development of innovative clinical programming, and the advancement of medical education within the department.

Prior to her current appointment, Dr. MacKenzie held key leadership positions within the organization, including Interim Transitional Lead in Pediatrics and Head of Service for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). In these roles, she successfully navigated complex departmental transitions and elevated the standard of specialized care for critical newborns.

Dr. MacKenzie’s academic journey includes earning her medical degree from the University of Toronto. She completed her pediatric residency followed by advanced subspecialty fellowship training in the NICU at McMaster University, equipping her with expertise in critical care neonatal and comprehensive pediatric medicine.

As a dedicated wife and mother to two young boys, Dr. MacKenzie brings a deeply personal perspective to her leadership. Her firsthand understanding of the joys and challenges of raising a family fuels her passion for ensuring that families across the Niagara region receive the compassionate, high-quality care they deserve close to home.
