The Physiotherapy Department provides care for inpatients and outpatients throughout all Niagara Health sites and assists in the diagnosis, recovery and rehabilitation of patients with neuromuscular, orthopaedic and other disabilities by utilizing a variety of techniques.
Physiotherapists are dedicated to improving quality of life by managing and preventing many physical problems caused by illness, disease, aging, long periods of inactivity as well as sport and work related injury.
Physiotherapy aims to enhance or restore function of multiple body systems. The profession is committed to health, lifestyle and quality of life. This multi-faceted approach incorporates a broad range of physical and physiological therapeutic interventions and aids (Canadian Physiotherapy Association).
All Physiotherapists are registered with the College of Physiotherapists and adhere to all provisions of the Regulated Health Professionals Act.
