St. Catharines, Niagara Falls and Welland Assessment Centres

Testing at Niagara Health's COVID-19 Assessment Centres is available by appointment only.

Assessment Centres are prioritizing testing for those most at risk for having COVID-19.

Step 1: Do you meet the eligibility criteria?

Members of the public should only seek testing at an Assessment Centre if they are:

  • Showing COVID-19 symptoms;
  • Have been exposed to a confirmed case of the virus, as informed by their public health unit or exposure notification through the COVID Alert app;
  • A resident or work in a setting that has a COVID-19 outbreak, as identified and informed by their local public health unit; and
  • Eligible for testing as part of a targeted testing initiative directed by the Ministry of Health or the Ministry of Long-Term Care. Visit ontario.ca/covidtest for a full list of testing criteria.

You can also take the Ontario government’s self-assessment to receive a recommendation on what to do if you’re worried you were exposed to COVID-19 or have symptoms.

A select number of pharmacies in Niagara are offering testing by appointment only to those without COVID symptoms. Please visit the Ontario Government's website for a full list of testing locations.

Step 3: Important reminders for those coming to our Assessment Centres.

If you are an Ontario resident, you will need to bring your Ontario Health Card to the Assessment Centre with you when you arrive for testing. If you do not have an Ontario Health Card, please bring another piece of identification.

Please wear a mask.

For safety reasons, Assessment Centres have separate entrances from the hospital. Those being tested for COVID-19 are asked not to arrive at the main entrance or through the Emergency Department. See below for maps to our centres.
