A Year of Progress
A look back at the defining moments that shaped the past year at NH from major construction milestones to clinical achievements and community partnerships. These are short milestone blurbs, not full stories.
Transforming Care Event
Two and a half years ago, Niagara Health launched a five-year plan called Transforming Care to chart a path forward on how hospital care is delivered in our region so patients and families receive the best care possible.
South Niagara Hospital beam signing and topping-off ceremony

One of the final structural beams has been signed and raised at the South Niagara Hospital, marking a major construction milestone in the $3.6-billion project that will transform healthcare delivery across Niagara.
Stroke Accreditation
Niagara Falls Hospital has earned national recognition for its exceptional stroke care, receiving the Stroke Distinction from Accreditation Canada.
CT scanner replacement
Niagara Health is undertaking a transformative upgrade to its CT scanner fleet, bringing the most advanced diagnostic imaging equipment currently available in Canada to our hospital sites. These state-of-the-art CT scanners will be installed at the Marotta Family, Niagara Falls and Welland hospitals starting this month.
HIS upgrade
Niagara Health and Hotel Dieu Shaver Health and Rehabilitation Centre have launched a new Hospital Information System (HIS) designed to improve how we deliver care.
25 years of the Eating Disorder Clinic
Healthcare programs often evolve, restructure or close — but some remain constant.
IHRS evacuation support
It was a situation no one was prepared for but that didn’t stop Niagara Health from joining a regional effort last summer to help 5,300 people displaced by floods and wildfires in Northern Ontario during the largest evacuation in the province’s history.
Radiation program bunker renovations
Niagara Health’s Walker Family Cancer Centre (WFCC) is upgrading its cancer treatment technology with a state-of-the-art Varian Edge linear accelerator, making it the first centre in Ontario to adopt this advanced model.
