We strongly urge the community to follow public health measures to minimize further increases in COVID-19 cases in our region and help us protect capacity for life-saving critical care and other services for COVID and non-COVID patients.

Our teams are working extremely hard to do everything possible to minimize the impact on patient care at Niagara Health. But the unrelenting pressures on the healthcare system require we continue to adjust in order to build capacity for life-saving critical care for COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 patients.
Niagara Health is experiencing unprecedented pressures and needs our community’s support to help protect capacity for life-saving critical care and other patient services. The situation is serious in Niagara, as it is across the province.
An outbreak of COVID-19 has been declared on the sixth floor at Niagara Health’s Welland Site.
In the strongest terms, Niagara Health urges people of all ages to continue following public health measures to minimize further increases in COVID-19 cases in our region and help us protect capacity for life-saving critical care and other services amid unprecedented pressures on the healthcare system.
This comes in response to direction from Ontario Health.
Through guidance from Niagara’s Community Coordination Taskforce for COVID-19 Vaccination, child care, elementary and secondary school sectors have been prioritized for COVID-19 vaccination in Niagara region.
